COOL SOUNDS FOR THE HEATWAVE!

With themes from Breakfast at Tiffany’s to the Best of Bond, Titanic to Full Monty, our songs from the movies proved to be a great hit with our audience and a wonderful way to round off another successful season.
Thank you to all our friends and supporters who come along and make it all worthwhile.
We owe a debt of gratitude to Robert Webb and Jonathan Gooing who both inspire us with their boundless musical talent and bring out the best in us as a choir.
Rehearsals recommence on 9th September – new members welcome.
In the meantime, make the most of the heatwave and enjoy the summer holidays!

MESSIAH PERFORMANCE CANCELLED DUE TO HEAVY SNOW

After a wonderful dress rehearsal with Bel Canto, Sheffield Music Academy string orchestra and soloists, the snow came down heavily around 6pm causing treacherous conditions on the roads. Choir members who had gone home to change were stranded in traffic pile ups  across the region due to ice on the roads. The young musicians from Sheffield who had been rehearsing until 5.45pm were at risk of being stranded in St Margaret’s for the night as the prospect of driving back to Sheffield safely looked highly unlikely.

The last minute decision to cancel the performance was very disappointing but the only sensible thing to do under the circumstances.

So – apologies to the handful of hardy audience members who braved the elements. This concert will be rearranged as soon as possible – preferably without snow!
